1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using HCC StockWatcher, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
2. Subscription Plans
HCC StockWatcher offers Free, Standard, and Pro subscription tiers. Features and limits are described on our pricing page. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually at the rates displayed at time of purchase, plus applicable taxes.
3. Free Trial
New accounts receive a 14-day Pro trial at no charge. No credit card is required. The trial auto-downgrades to the Free plan after expiry. One trial per email address.
4. Billing and Payment
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled. We will provide at least 30 days advance notice before any price increase.
5. Cancellation and Refunds
You may cancel anytime from Settings > Billing. Monthly: full refund within 7 days of initial subscription. Annual: full refund within 30 days minus usage. You may also pause your subscription for 1–3 months instead of canceling.
6. Data Ownership
You own all data you input into the Service. Upon account deletion, you may request a full data export. We will permanently delete your data within 30 days of deletion request.
7. Disclaimer
The Service provides portfolio tracking and analytics tools. It does NOT provide financial, tax, or investment advice. All calculations are for informational purposes only. Consult a qualified professional for financial decisions.
HCC StockWatcher is NOT a registered investment advisor under the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Investment Advisers Act, FINRA, Canadian provincial securities commissions, IIROC, or MFDA. We are a technology platform offering informational and educational tools; we do not manage your portfolio, execute trades, or provide personalized investment advice. Rebalancing and tax-loss suggestions shown within the Service are educational illustrations, not recommendations to buy, sell, or hold any security.
If you are a Canadian resident, note that the Service does not hold any registration with IIROC, MFDA, or the securities regulator in your province/territory. Some features may be restricted or informational-only in certain jurisdictions. You remain solely responsible for compliance with securities laws that apply to you.
Past performance does not guarantee future results. Projected returns are hypothetical. Before acting on any information displayed in the Service, you should consult a financial advisor, tax professional, and/or lawyer who is qualified and registered in your jurisdiction.
8. Market Data Disclaimer
Market data displayed within HCC StockWatcher is provided by third-party sources, including Yahoo Finance. Prices and related data may be delayed by up to 15 minutes or more depending on the exchange and data provider.
HCC StockWatcher does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any market data. Users should not rely solely on displayed prices for trading decisions.
Yahoo Finance and any other data providers referenced herein are independent third parties. Their inclusion does not constitute an endorsement, partnership, or affiliation. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
9. Calculation Disclaimer
Portfolio calculations including cost basis, unrealized and realized gains/losses, FIFO-based position tracking, and performance metrics are generated using a transaction-ledger accounting model. These calculations are approximations intended for personal portfolio tracking and may differ from brokerage or tax authority calculations.
Factors that may cause discrepancies include but are not limited to: currency conversion timing, corporate actions (splits, mergers, spin-offs), wash sale or superficial loss rules, dividend reinvestment adjustments, and broker-specific fee structures.
HCC StockWatcher does not provide financial, tax, investment, or legal advice. All calculations and analytics are for informational purposes only. Users should consult qualified financial and tax professionals before making any financial decisions based on information presented by the Service.
10. AI Features Disclaimer
HCC StockWatcher may incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) features including but not limited to: market analysis summaries, portfolio insights, risk assessments, and natural-language query responses. These AI-generated outputs are provided for informational and educational purposes only.
AI outputs may contain inaccuracies, outdated information, or errors. They do not constitute financial advice, investment recommendations, or endorsements of any securities or strategies. Users should independently verify all AI-generated content and should not rely solely on AI features for investment decisions.
AI models may produce different results for the same inputs at different times. HCC StockWatcher makes no warranties regarding the reliability, accuracy, or suitability of AI-generated content for any particular purpose.
11. Tax Information Disclaimer
Tax-related features including dividend classification (qualified, ordinary, eligible, non-eligible), capital gains categorization, tax-loss harvesting suggestions, T1135 foreign property tracking, and RRSP/TFSA analytics are provided as informational tools only.
Tax laws and regulations vary by jurisdiction and are subject to change. The Service does not account for individual tax circumstances, residency status, treaty benefits, alternative minimum tax, or other taxpayer-specific factors that may affect tax liability.
HCC StockWatcher is not a tax preparation service and does not file returns on behalf of users. All tax-related information should be verified by a qualified tax professional. Users are solely responsible for their tax reporting and compliance obligations.
