Dividend & Income Tracking
Track every dividend payment, DRIP reinvestment, and income projection across all your US and Canadian brokerage accounts.
Consolidated Dividend View
See all dividend payments from every brokerage account in a single timeline. Filter by stock, date range, or account. Know exactly how much income your portfolio generates.
DRIP Reinvestment Tracking
Dividend reinvestments detected in your ledger are proposed for review and, once you confirm them, recorded as their own tax lot with its own cost basis and acquisition date — the per-lot detail an estimated capital gains figure is built from when you eventually sell.
Dividend Projections
Based on your current holdings and historical dividend patterns, see estimated future income by month, quarter, or year. Understand how changes to your portfolio might affect your income stream.
Tax-Ready Records
Dividend income is categorized and organized for tax reporting: eligible Canadian dividends, foreign dividends, and return of capital distributions are tracked separately to simplify tax preparation.
Multi-Currency Support
US and Canadian dividends are tracked in their original currency with automatic conversion to your base currency for consolidated reporting. Exchange rates are recorded at payment date.
Missing Dividend Detection
Recorded payments are compared against published dividend history for each holding, and anything missing is flagged with the shares you held on that ex-dividend date reconstructed from your ledger. Nothing is written until you confirm it.
How it works
Bring in the dividends you have already received
Import them with your transaction history, enter them one at a time, or upload a CSV. Each payment records its date, its amount, the currency it was paid in, and the holding it came from.
Let detection find the ones you missed
Recorded payments are compared against published dividend history for each holding. For anything missing, the shares you held on that ex-dividend date are reconstructed by replaying your ledger, so the suggested amount reflects the position you actually had rather than today's. Nothing is written until you confirm it, and dismissals are remembered.
See what the next twelve months look like
A forward schedule projects monthly and annual income from your current holdings, using measured dividend growth from each holding's own payment history where enough of it exists. Withholding tax on foreign payments is estimated separately, so gross and net are both visible.
Classify it for tax and check that it is sustainable
Payments are separated into eligible Canadian dividends, ordinary and qualified US dividends, foreign-sourced income, and return of capital. Payout ratios, dividend growth streaks, and warnings about destructive return of capital show which parts of that income rest on something durable.
What it does not do
Knowing where a tool stops is worth more than a longer list of what it claims. These are the boundaries of what StockWatcher does here.
Detected dividends are suggestions, not entries
Nothing detected is written to your records on its own. Every suggestion waits for you to confirm or dismiss it, and dividend history from a data provider can be incomplete, restated, or missing entirely for smaller and non-US listings.
Projections assume the future resembles the past
Forward income is derived from your current holdings and their past payment behaviour. Dividends are never guaranteed: a company can cut, suspend, or re-time a payment at any moment, and no projection can anticipate that.
Withholding and tax classification are estimates
Withholding is applied by market rather than by your personal treaty position or account type, and classification follows general rules rather than the slips your brokerage will issue. Reconcile against those slips before filing.
Safety scoring works with partial data
The dividend safety score leans on payout ratio and balance-sheet leverage. Earnings-stability and cash-flow-coverage inputs are unavailable from the data feed for most holdings and fall back to a neutral value, so treat the score as one input among several rather than a verdict.
