Total Net Worth Overview

See your total estimated net worth at a glance, combining investment portfolio value, cash balances, real estate, and other assets minus any liabilities. A single number that represents your overall financial position.

Asset Categories

Manual entries fall into categories for real estate, vehicles, bank accounts, and other assets on one side, and mortgages, loans, and other liabilities on the other — alongside the investment value derived from your portfolios. Each shows its estimated value and its share of the total.

Net Worth Trends

Track how your net worth changes over time with historical charts. See month-over-month and year-over-year growth to understand your financial trajectory and identify patterns in your wealth accumulation.

Goal Tracking

Set a target amount and a target date, optionally with a planned monthly contribution, and track progress with milestone markers along the way. A goal can be measured against a specific portfolio's value or against a figure you maintain yourself.

Multi-Currency Aggregation

Assets and liabilities held in other currencies are converted into your base currency before the total is formed, using published daily reference rates, so the result is one comparable figure rather than several.

Net Worth Snapshots

A snapshot of your net worth and its components is recorded automatically each day, and you can record one on demand. Stored figures are encrypted at rest, and the history view returns the series across any date range you ask for.

How it works

  1. Your portfolios supply the investment side

Investment value is derived live from the transaction ledger across every portfolio you own, so it moves with the market without you touching it. Cash balances you track in the app are included on the same footing.

  2. Add what lives outside the brokerage

Enter a home, a vehicle, a bank balance or any other asset with its value, currency, and the date that value was current. Mortgages, loans and other debts are entered the same way and subtracted from the total.

  3. Everything converts into one base currency

Manual items in other currencies are converted into your base currency before the total is formed, so a euro mortgage set against a Canadian portfolio produces one comparable number rather than two that cannot be added.

  4. The total is recorded over time

A daily snapshot preserves the total and its components, and the history view plots the series so you can see the trajectory rather than only today's figure. Individual items can be excluded from the total without deleting them.

What it does not do

Knowing where a tool stops is worth more than a longer list of what it claims. These are the boundaries of what StockWatcher does here.

No account connections, anywhere

There is no link to a bank, a brokerage, a mortgage provider or a credit bureau. Every figure outside your investment ledger is one you typed, and it stays at that value until you change it.

Property and vehicle values are yours to maintain

There is no automated valuation of a home or a car. StockWatcher stores the number and the date you attached to it, and keeps showing that number however stale it becomes.

It is not a budgeting or cash-flow tool

Income, spending and transaction-level bank activity are outside what this does. Net worth here is a balance-sheet view taken at a point in time, not a picture of money moving through your accounts.

Goals measure a value, not your whole balance sheet

A goal tracks progress against a portfolio you link to it, or against a current value you maintain yourself. It is not driven automatically by the net worth total, and milestone markers are informational rather than a plan.
