Why We Built This

Most portfolio trackers are built for a single market. If you hold both US and Canadian stocks, you quickly run into problems: currency conversion is wrong, Canadian tickers are not recognized, and cost basis calculations do not follow CRA rules. HCC StockWatcher was built to solve these specific problems.

Transaction-Ledger Approach

Unlike tools that only show current positions, HCC StockWatcher maintains a complete ledger of every buy, sell, and dividend transaction. This means we can calculate FIFO cost basis, track individual tax lots, and provide estimated capital gain/loss reports — all derived from your actual transaction history.

Privacy First

We never ask for your brokerage login credentials. All data comes through CSV imports that you control. Row-level security at the database level ensures your portfolio is isolated from every other user. Payments are handled by Stripe — we never see your credit card numbers.
