Wealthica is a dashboard that links to your bank and brokerage accounts — it says it connects to more than 20,000 financial institutions — to show a consolidated view, but it doesn't hold your investments itself. Every holding shown inside Wealthica lives at whichever institution you linked. That means switching to HCC StockWatcher means going to those institutions directly for your transaction history, the same way you set up the Wealthica connection in the first place. (For a feature-by-feature look instead, see our Wealthica alternative page.)
Check which institutions Wealthica is reading from
Open the Institutions list inside your Wealthica account to see exactly which financial institutions are linked. Wealthica's own integrations page documents account-, position-, and transaction-level support for several brokerages HCC StockWatcher already has a dedicated CSV parser for: BMO InvestorLine, Interactive Brokers, National Bank Direct Brokerage, RBC Direct Investing, Scotia iTRADE, Questrade, and Wealthsimple.
Exporting from that brokerage directly
If your linked institution is one of those seven, log into it directly — not through Wealthica — and use its own activity or transaction-history CSV export. That's the same file our parser for that brokerage already auto-detects, so it imports with no reformatting.
Exporting from Wealthica itself
Wealthica also has its own export: an "Export to CSV" button on the dashboard for balances and performance per account, plus a Google Sheets sync (bundled free with its paid Premium plan) or a separate paid Excel sync add-on, both covering investments, transactions, and holdings. This export uses Wealthica's own layout, so none of our 12 parsers will auto-detect it — treat it as a reference for manual entry, not a file you can drop straight into an import.
What needs manual entry
If your institution isn't one of the seven listed above, or if all you have is Wealthica's own aggregated export, add those transactions by hand with StockWatcher's Add Transaction form. Non-brokerage accounts you tracked in Wealthica purely for a net-worth view — bank accounts, private investments — can be added as manually entered net-worth items instead of transactions.
What won't transfer at all
Wealthica's single dashboard across every linked account — banks and brokerages together, refreshed automatically — has no equivalent in StockWatcher, which only tracks what you import as transactions. If you relied on Wealthica for whole-household net-worth visibility across many institutions updating live, that consolidated view doesn't carry over.
If you still want a paid tier once you're set up, StockWatcher's are Standard at $9.99/mo and Pro at $24.99/mo; the free tier covers core transaction tracking with CSV import.
