Charles Schwab is one of the largest US brokerages, and many investors want to track their Schwab holdings alongside other accounts in a single portfolio tracker. HCC StockWatcher supports direct CSV import from Schwab's export format with automatic parser detection.
Exporting From Schwab
Log into your Schwab account at schwab.com. Navigate to the History section under the Accounts tab.
Set the date range for the transactions you want to export. Select All Transaction Types to ensure you capture buys, sells, dividends, and other activity.
Click the Export link (usually in the top-right area of the transaction list). Select CSV format and download the file.
Importing Into HCC StockWatcher
In HCC StockWatcher, go to the Transactions page and click Import. Select the CSV file you downloaded from Schwab. The parser will auto-detect the Schwab format.
Review the import preview. Each transaction will be mapped with symbol, date, quantity, price, and type. Verify the data looks correct and confirm the import.
What Gets Imported
- Stock and ETF buy/sell transactions with date, quantity, and price.
- Dividend payments and reinvestments.
- Commissions and fees (if applicable).
- Both individual and joint account transactions.
Notes for Schwab Users
If you recently migrated from TD Ameritrade to Schwab, your historical TD Ameritrade transactions may or may not be available in Schwab's export depending on the migration timeline. Check the date range of your export and compare against your records.
Disclaimer: HCC StockWatcher is an informational tool. All imported data should be verified against your official Schwab statements. Consult a qualified tax professional for official tax records.
