Parser Details
The Fidelity parser reads buy, sell, dividend, deposit, and withdrawal rows from the Action column, and adds Commission ($) and Fees ($) together into a single fee per trade. Every row is recorded in US dollars.

What transfers from your Fidelity CSV
Exactly what the Fidelity parser reads out of the file, and what you will still need to enter yourself afterwards.
Read from the file
- Buy and sell rows: Run Date, Symbol, Quantity, and Price ($).
- Commission ($) and Fees ($), added together into one fee per trade.
- Dividend rows, deposits including electronic funds transfers, and withdrawals, recognised from the Action column.
- Security Description is kept as the transaction note.
Entered by hand afterwards
- Currency. Every Fidelity row is recorded in US dollars on the US market; the parser reads no currency column.
- Reinvested dividends. A REINVESTMENT row is not read as a share purchase, so add the reinvested shares as a buy if you want the lot.
- Cost basis for positions transferred in from another institution.
- Option contracts. Strike price, expiry, and call or put are not columns the parser reads.
- Corporate actions such as splits, mergers, spinoffs, and return of capital are skipped.
Estimated capital gains, adjusted cost base, and the year-end United States and Canadian reference reports are all derived from these transactions, so anything missing here is missing from those figures too. See how estimated tax reporting works
